About this tool
Why your clip may start a little earlier
Compressed videos (MP4, MOV, WEBM) store complete images only at certain intervals—these are called keyframes. The frames in between record only what changed. Since trimming copies the video without re-encoding, the start has to fall on a keyframe, so your clip may start a little before the point you selected. For precise timing, set the start a little earlier and check it with Preview clip.
Common limits for sharing clips
Every social network and app has its own limits for video length and file size, and these can change often. Check the platform’s help center before trimming. The duration indicator next to the buttons shows the exact clip length as you adjust the start and end points.
- If the clip is short but the file is still large, use compress video.
- To share the clip as a silent animation, use video to GIF.
- If the video was recorded sideways, fix it with rotate video.
Frequently asked questions
Does trimming a video reduce its quality?
No. The selected segment is copied without re-encoding, so trimming is fast and the quality stays the same. The start point may be adjusted to the nearest keyframe.
Does it add a watermark?
No. None of Rotina Diária’s tools add a watermark.
Does it work in all browsers?
It works in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari that support WebCodecs. Processing uses your device’s video acceleration, so it’s usually faster than uploading the file to a website.
Can I cut several clips from the same video?
Yes, one at a time: download the first clip, set new start and end times, and trim again (if prompted, select the same file again). Each clip is saved as a separate file.
What format will the trimmed clip be in?
It stays in the original format: MP4 stays MP4, MOV stays MOV, and WEBM stays WEBM. If you need an MP4 to share, convert it afterward with the Video Converter.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser: your file is read and processed on your device, and not a single byte is sent over the internet. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
Is it really free? Is there a daily limit?
It's free with no daily limits. Processing happens on your device, so there's no per-use cost and no need to limit you.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. The site works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, and Linux—no installation needed.
