About this tool

Which mode should you choose?

  • Percentage: Scales everything by the same amount. Great for resizing a batch of photos with different dimensions (for example, "make them all half size").
  • Fixed width: Gives every image the same width and adjusts the height to preserve its proportions. Ideal for blogs and online stores with a set layout width.
  • Fixed height: Works the same way for banners and strips that need a consistent height.
  • Exact width and height: Forces the image to the dimensions you enter. If the photo has a different aspect ratio, it will look stretched or squashed—in that case, crop it to the right aspect ratio before resizing.

Resizing isn't the same as compressing

Reducing an image's dimensions almost always reduces its file size. But to meet a file size limit in KB (such as 100 KB or 1 MB), the most effective option is the image compressor, which adjusts quality and maximum width at the same time. Making a small image larger won't add detail: your browser only interpolates the existing pixels, so the result looks softer or blurry.

JPG, PNG, and WEBP files keep their original format; other formats are saved as JPG.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize multiple photos to the same size?

Select all the photos at once and choose Fixed width. They'll all have the same width without distortion. If they need to be exactly the same size (for example, 800 × 800), crop each one to a 1:1 aspect ratio first, then resize.

Does resizing reduce image quality?

Reducing an image's dimensions removes pixels, but the photo stays sharp at its new size. Quality loss becomes noticeable if you enlarge the image afterward. Always keep the original.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser: your file is read and processed on your device, and not a single byte is sent over the internet. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.

Is it really free? Is there a daily limit?

It's free with no daily limits. Processing happens on your device, so there's no per-use cost and no need to limit you.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. The site works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, and Linux—no installation needed.
