About this tool
When to speed up or slow down a video
- 2× to 4×: Shorten tutorials, recipes, road trips, and long screen recordings—a 2-minute video at 2× becomes 1 minute.
- 0.5× (slow motion): Highlight a goal, a jump, or a reaction for Reels and TikTok.
- 1.25× and 1.5×: Make someone speaking sound more lively without making it seem too fast.
Then use trim video to keep only the best part, or compress video to share it on WhatsApp.
What happens to the audio and smoothness
With Match speed, the audio is resampled like a record on a turntable: speeding up makes it higher-pitched, while slow motion makes it lower-pitched. If you'd rather add music later, choose Remove audio.
Slow motion doesn't create extra frames: a video recorded at 30 frames per second plays at 15 frames per second at 0.5×. For smooth slow motion, record at 60 fps or higher on your phone. All processing happens in your browser, and your video isn't uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
How do I slow down a video?
Choose 0.5× (half speed) or 0.25× (quarter speed), then click Change speed. Your video will be two or four times longer. Videos recorded at 60 fps or higher look smoother in slow motion.
Does the audio sound high-pitched when I speed up a video?
Yes. When you choose Match speed, the pitch goes up when you speed up the video and down in slow motion, like a record playing faster or slower. To avoid this effect, choose Remove audio and add a soundtrack later.
What's the maximum speed?
Choose a speed from 0.25× to 4×. To speed it up more, process the result again: applying 4× twice gives you 16×, which is useful for creating a time-lapse from long recordings.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser: your file is read and processed on your device, and not a single byte is sent over the internet. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
Is it really free? Is there a daily limit?
It's free with no daily limits. Processing happens on your device, so there's no per-use cost and no need to limit you.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. The site works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, and Linux—no installation needed.
