How to use: CSS, HTML, and JSON Minifier

  1. Choose a language: CSS, HTML, or JSON.
  2. Paste your code or open a file.
  3. Check how many bytes you save, then copy or download the minified file.

About this tool

Minification is conservative: it removes comments and redundant whitespace without rewriting values. Quoted content, required spaces inside calc(), and selectors like a :hover are preserved. License comments like /*! ... */ are kept.

In HTML, the content inside <pre>, <textarea>, and <script> stays untouched, while CSS in <style> tags can be minified too. JavaScript isn't minified: doing so safely requires a full compiler like esbuild or Terser, which we recommend using in your build process.

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't it minify JavaScript?

Safely minifying JS requires parsing the language's full syntax (ASI, regex, template strings). Simply removing whitespace can break your code, so we recommend esbuild, Terser, or your bundler's minifier.

Does minification replace gzip or Brotli compression?

No, they work together. Minification reduces the original file size; your server should still compress the response with gzip or Brotli.

Is it really free? Is there a daily limit?

It's free with no daily limits. Processing happens on your device, so there's no per-use cost and no need to limit you.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. The site works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, and Linux—no installation needed.
