CSV to JSON
Convert CSV spreadsheets to JSON with delimiter detection, data types, and header support.
Processed on your device. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.
How to use: CSV to JSON
- Paste your CSV data or open a file exported from a spreadsheet.
- Choose whether the first row is a header and whether values should be converted to numbers.
- Copy or download the formatted JSON.
About this tool
The parser follows RFC 4180: quoted fields can contain delimiters, line breaks, and escaped double quotes (""). The delimiter is automatically detected as a comma, semicolon, tab, or vertical bar.
Values like 007 stay as text to preserve leading zeros (ZIP codes, IDs). Columns with a period in the name, such as address.state, can be converted to nested objects.
Frequently asked questions
My CSV from Excel has garbled characters. What should I do?
In Excel, save the file as “CSV UTF-8.” Files saved with older encodings (ANSI/Windows-1252) may show garbled characters when read as UTF-8.
What happens when headers are repeated?
A number is added to the name (name, name_2) so no data gets overwritten.
Is it really free? Is there a daily limit?
It's free with no daily limits. Processing happens on your device, so there's no per-use cost and no need to limit you.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. The site works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, and Linux—no installation needed.
