About this tool

How the difficulty increases

Problems are generated on the fly, so they never repeat in the same order. You’ll start with addition and subtraction up to 20. After 4 correct answers, you’ll get multiplication tables and division problems that divide evenly, followed by two-digit addition and subtraction. Next come problems like 37 × 6 and 168 ÷ 7. At the final level, you’ll see percentages ("25% of 340") and multiplication problems like 14 × 17.

Wrong answers don’t cost you points, but they won’t advance you to the next level either—and each mistake appears in your final score. Your shared result shows only your correct and incorrect answers.

Mental math tips

  • Add in parts: 47 + 38 = 47 + 30 + 8 = 85.
  • Multiply in parts: 37 × 6 = 30 × 6 + 7 × 6 = 180 + 42 = 222.
  • Percentages: 10% means divide by 10; 25% means divide by 4; 75% is 3 times 25%.

Frequently asked questions

What’s a good score in 1 minute?

It depends on the difficulty level, but more than 18 correct answers is a great score. It means you made it past multiplication tables and reached two-digit problems.

Can I use a calculator or paper?

You can, but that takes the fun out of it: the goal is to practice mental math. The shared score is for friendly competition, not a formal test.

Will negative answers appear?

No. Subtraction problems always put the larger number first, and division problems always divide evenly, so all answers are positive whole numbers.

Is it really free? Is there a daily limit?

It's free with no daily limits. Processing happens on your device, so there's no per-use cost and no need to limit you.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. The site works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, and Linux—no installation needed.
