About this tool

The recorder uses your browser's built-in APIs (screen capture and MediaRecorder) to create the video on your computer—no servers, time limits, or watermarks.

The default format is WebM, which works in Chrome, VLC, and most video editors. For WhatsApp, iPhone, and PowerPoint, click Convert to MP4 (H.264). The conversion happens right in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Is my recording uploaded to a server?

No. Your recording is made in your browser and stays in your device's memory until you download it. If you close the page without downloading, it's deleted.

Does it work on phones?

Not on iPhone or iPad, or most Android devices—mobile browsers don't allow screen capture. Use your device's built-in screen recorder (in Control Center on iPhone or Quick Settings on Android).

Why wasn't my computer audio recorded?

In Chrome and Edge, check "Share audio" in the selection window. System audio is only available on Windows and ChromeOS. On Mac, record a browser tab to capture its audio.

Is there a recording time limit?

There’s no time limit. Long recordings use a lot of memory (about 50 MB to 100 MB per minute at high quality). For long lectures, choose standard quality.

Is it really free? Is there a daily limit?

It's free with no daily limits. Processing happens on your device, so there's no per-use cost and no need to limit you.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. The site works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, and Linux—no installation needed.
