Tips for a great-looking signature on screen

• Turn your phone sideways or use a tablet stylus for a more natural stroke than with a mouse.
• Higher smoothing reduces shakiness. Use less smoothing if your signature has small, quick curves.
• The stroke gets thinner when you draw quickly and thicker when you draw slowly, like with a real pen.
• The image is cropped and transparent, ready to paste into a PDF, Word document, email, or contract.

Legal validity of an image signature

A signature drawn and pasted into a document is a simple electronic signature. Brazilian Law No. 14,063/2020 recognizes this type for lower-risk transactions between private parties, but documents requiring strong identification (such as deeds, certain powers of attorney, and documents for government agencies) require an advanced gov.br signature or a qualified signature with an ICP-Brasil certificate. If in doubt, ask the recipient which format they accept.
