Remove Line Breaks

1. Paste text with broken lines—from a PDF, email, website, or subtitles.
2. Choose Join lines and keep paragraphs (recommended) or remove all line breaks, then check the option to clean up extra spaces.
3. Copy or download the cleaned text; the panel shows how many line breaks were removed.

Why PDF text gets broken into lines

A PDF stores each line on the page as a separate block. When you copy text, each line ending becomes a line break, splitting sentences and leaving extra spaces. When pasted into Word, WhatsApp, or a form, the text looks messy.

• Join lines and keep paragraphs: joins the lines in each paragraph and preserves the blank line between paragraphs. This is the right choice for articles, contracts, and papers.
• Remove all (replace with spaces): turns everything into one block, useful for single-line form fields and spreadsheets.
• Remove all (no spaces): for codes, keys, and numbers split across multiple lines.

Tips for cleaning up text

Check Replace repeated spaces with one to remove double spaces and tabs left over from formatting. If your PDF is scanned (an image), extract the text first with PDF OCR, then clean it up here.

Words hyphenated at the end of a line ("compu-ter") aren't joined automatically because the hyphen may be part of the word, as in "state-of-the-art." Use find and replace if you want to fix them.
